As a school we need to:
“…identify students and groups of students who are not achieving, who are at risk of not achieving, or who have special needs and to identify aspects of the curriculum that require particular attention.”

After completing the relevant assessments we follow the following process when identifying and catering for children with Special Learning Needs. Children who may need additional assistance can include:
- Children with learning difficulties
- Children with social and behavioural problems
- Children with intellectual disabilities
- Children with physical disabilities and medical conditions
- Children with pastoral care issues
The Special Education Coordinator oversees all Learning Support Programmes in our school and assists in facilitating individual programmes to meet the special educational needs of students. Where appropriate an Individual Education Plan, Individual/Group Teaching Plan, Care or Action Plan will be written for each student receiving additional 1:1 support. This is a prerequisite for students receiving Ministry of Education funding or funding from outside agencies.
Teacher Aides will assist identified students in their classrooms where appropriate, or may withdraw students for 1:1 or small group tuition, where it is beneficial to do so.
